This is a level-one module for French language. It is not suitable for beginners with no previous study of French. The module builds on the basic communicative proficiency, language awareness and cultural awareness acquired through the Irish Leaving Certificate programme (the recommended entry level is normally a minimum grade H4 (pre-2017 C2) in Leaving Certificate French or equivalent). The module focuses primarily on consolidating general linguistic competence and developing the receptive skills of comprehension of written French. Students who have achieved at least a B grade in this module are deemed to be successfully progressing towards CEFR level B1.

Goes beyond the notes

Very good notes to look back over and very easy to understand while having everything you need

In practice

One lecture one tutorial you do homework grammar questions and comprehensions with quizzes but not worth any part of your overall grade very useful going over all the grammar as the quizzes and comprehensions are what your end of term exam is like

Advice

Really just get good with the grammar the comprehensions you have to see what it’s like on the day while if you get the grammar concepts down the questions are very easy
