Human Learning is a module that focuses on developing core competencies for effective learning, wellbeing, personal growth and coping with stress, so that you can equip yourself with lifelong skills for learning, working and being well. Some concepts covered in this module are managing stress, motivation, time management, critical and creative thinking, happiness, personality, positive self-identity, and most importantly fostering physical, cognitive, emotional and social skills that will support your learning and wellbeing. Your assignments will provide you with the opportunity to focus on yourself, working towards your personal goals that you will identify as part of the module and track your own personal data and progress in areas of your choice (e.g. emotional wellbeing, study habits, time management, exercise). You will reflect on how your values and goals map onto the way you are currently living your life and you will be facilitated in exploring how you wish to reach your potential. Expert speakers will join us for sessions around areas such as personality, time management, and mental health. Human learning is taught using pre-recorded online lectures, and in-person interactive practical, providing you with the perfect mixture of learning. Each week you will prepare for class by engaging with online materials by watching pre-recorded lectures and readings. You will also attend weekly small group practical classes which will be conversational in tone where you will undertake a variety of activities both individually and in small groups that focus on enhancing your personal development, self-enquiry and reflection and build your learner competencies. Some examples of activities include simulation games, quizzes, debates, and problem solving. We look forward to meeting you!
