Research Project Preparation
This module gives you the space to develop a research proposal, that will be the basis for the Research Project module in the following trimester. Through the module you will be developing your topic, the key questions that you will be addressing, the methods that you think you will need to employ and the resources that it might require. The final submission for this module will be the completion of a project proposal form. The form has been based on the types of questions grant awarding bodies would ask you if you were looking for funding. The proposal phase allows a point of critical reflection before you embark on your project and allows for an assessment of whether or not it can proceed or whether it needs to be adapted.

A good class to take if you are interested in doing your dissertation. It can be stressful with feedback and speaking to peers. I would recommend you speak to your supervisor or proposed supervisor for the advice on the feedback as well how what to include in the proposal. Office hours are a must for this class for ensuring you do not go too far down the wrong track. I want to stress how nice the professor is he really cares. Can be very rewarding. Some peers view the lectures as common sense or repetitive. Required for doing a dissertation and important if you want to have a career in academia.
